NAVAJYOTHI YOUTH DEVELOPMENT CENTER ( NYDC )

NYDC emphasises on an integrated pro-poor, pro-youth, pro-culture orientation to development and community management of technological tools and encourages collective action for the spread of technology. It involves local youths to gather information that is fed into an Intranet which in turn caters to the respective villages. Value addition to the raw information, use of the local language and multimedia to facilitate illiterate users and participation by local youth right from the beginning are the noteworthy features with the project. NYDC is designed to be a multi-purpose Information centre running a wide variety of programmes working towards the upliftment of the underprivileged youths, and working as facilitators in the tribal, rural and slums areas of the District. The centre endeavours to enrich and enhance the lives of the individuals and communities by opening up a whole new dimension through computer literacy in their lives. The vision of the centre is to bring the potential of Information technology (IT) to those who have not been touched by it as yet.
